Back to School (Emily)

Do you remember the days when friends meant everything to you? Do you remember always making sure you had the right clothes to wear? Do you remember feeling a little scared and overwhelmed by all the classes, and teachers, and the big school? Do you remember those Friday night football games sitting with your friends cheering for your alma mater? For me, those days have been long gone. But how exciting it is for me to watch my kids be interested in those things and see the school experience through their eyes.

I hope I have taught them and loved them and encouraged them enough to be strong against all the temptations and struggles that come along with being an adolescent. I hope that I know them well enough to see when they might be struggling. I hope they know how much I love them every morning when they walk out that door.

Oh....back to school! New clothes, new friends, more homework, homemade cookies, late nights, reports, projects, soccer, piano.....I love it! Good luck to all you kids this year and good luck to all you moms!
